I was delighted to host Kate Young’s supper club at Waterstones Tottenham Court Road to celebrate the launch of her wonderful book, The Little Library Cookbook. The menu was based around The Women’s Meal which Virginia Woolf is so disparaging about in A Room Of One’s Own, but was pretty special in Kate’s hands; onion consommé with fresh veg and herbs, roast rump of beef with roasted new potatoes and Ottolenghi herb salad with butter and almonds, and prunes in Armagnac with brown bread ice cream.
Thanks to Kate for letting me join the party (there’ll be a Lecker episode on the way soon) and to the truly brilliant Rosie Beaumont-Thomas, who books the events.
