Work

I started my career in music radio in the early 2010s, producing first for the digital station Amazing Radio and then at indie production company Folded Wing. There I produced BBC specialist shows like Monki on Radio 1/1Xtra and Jamie Cullum on Radio 2 as well as working on documentaries for Radio 1 and Radio 1 and producing programmes for Red Bull Music Academy.

I left Folded Wing to go freelance in 2016 and spent several years transitioning from music-based projects (working in-house at Radio 1 and 1Xtra, producing Mixcloud shows with artists like The Big Moon for Dr Martens…) to speech podcasts. Freelancing with the production company Rethink Audio I worked on the early days of shows such as Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place, Homo Sapiens as well as developing new formats such as Round the Houses with Sarah Beeny.

In 2020 I got a staff job at the BBC, working as a commissioning lead for the Pop Hub strand of BBC Sounds. It was a great experience being on the other side of the desk for a change, and I learned a lot in this role, particularly in terms of development and exec’ing, as that was the role we often ended up taking with suppliers. Ultimately I missed making things too much (and I was there during the peak covid years with all that entails) so I went freelance again in 2022.

Since then I’ve made shows for Radio 4 (most notably Witch, a real career highlight), worked on a lot of independent podcasts, been part of two annual XMTR festivals, started writing more, and focused harder on the food side of my professional interests, while weathering a bewildering time in the industry. I also got the train from London to Romania and back again, moved out of London to the seaside, adopted a tiny dog, deadlifted 135kg, learned to sew and taught my first choir song (Caravan of Love, the Housemartins version). All of these things have made my work better and more interesting.

My CV is varied and so I’ve tried to break down some recent and less recent highlights into categories below.

Food/Audio

Lecker

I founded this award-winning food podcast in 2016 and since then have won two Fortnum & Mason awards, been reviewed in the New York Times and produced episodes and series on topics such as kitchens, hot pot, food in still life, food memoir, MSG, grief and Manx folklore. I also write a regular Lecker newsletter on Substack and Patreon for free and paid subscribers and have published two zines. Find out more about the podcast on the Lecker website

The Vittles Podcast

I produce and edit the monthly podcast hosted by Adam Coghlan, restaurant editor of the food magazine Vittles. We platform interviews with chefs, food PRs, writers and other people in the food industry, many of whom make their podcast interview debut with us. The podcast is recorded in the beautiful young space in De Beauvoir.

Studio Lates from Mr Lyan Studio (in development)

Studio Lates is a podcast showcasing the regular events organised by the creative team at Mr Lyan Studio, launching in 2026.

Farmerama

I’m a co-host and producer on this independent podcast about regenerative agriculture. Our most recent release was Cereal Revisited, a multi-platform project comprising a podcast, a report and a digital soundmap reflecting on the impact of the 2019 series Cereal. It’s not the first bread related project I’ve worked on with Farmerama; I also produced a mini series called Good Bread in 2023 (co-published with Lecker).

One Dish with Andi Oliver (BBC Radio 4, 2022)

I produced this shortform series for Radio 4, featuring famous guests talking about their favourite foods. This was a real feat of logistical juggling, bringing together research from our resident food historian Dr Neil Buttery and scientific elements from Kimberley Wilson, plus sourcing the actual dish relevant to the episode (which is how I ended up cooking Asma Khan her own kala channa.) Brilliantly exec’d by Hannah Marshall and sound designed by Charlie Brandon-King.

Let’s Eat (The Guardian, 2017)

I co-developed and produced this fun short series about home cooking for the Guardian with Matt Hill of Rethink Audio. I had a lot of fun booking some of my favourite food writers and chefs (like Olia Hercules and Marie Mitchell) to cook for presenter Hersha Patel and reflect on how food took up spaces in their lives and homes.) We got nominated for a Fortnum & Mason Award.
